About NOSERA
Narratives of Sustainability, Environment, Resilience & Action
Who we are
NOSERA is a child-focused environmental education initiative for children under 18 that uses creative storytelling, books, games, creative activities, physical activities, collaboration, and practical environmental experiences to make climate and environmental learning engaging and meaningful, moving beyond traditional technical, passive, and classroom-focused approaches to create learning that is accessible, culturally relevant, and connected to children’s everyday lives and action.
With Somali as its primary language and English as its secondary language, NOSERA creates culturally relevant and accessible content that helps children understand environmental challenges, appreciate nature, develop sustainable habits, work together, and take meaningful action to care for their communities and planet.

Bilingual by design
NOSERA is bilingual, with Somali as the primary language and English as the secondary language. Content is developed with Somali-speaking children in mind, using culturally relevant language and context, while English can be provided through subtitles, translations, or separate book copies where appropriate. This supports accessibility, cultural relevance, and wider sharing of NOSERA’s learning resources.
